Massachusetts is Cracking Down on Drunk Driving this Summer

Like most people, I probably spend most of my driving miles on certain roads, driving the same routes.  I've driven (or been driven) on most of these roads my entire life.  As an adult I've added many locations, for example to my office, to various courts and to my in-laws, but for the most part, it's the same old roads.  Why am I stating the obvious?  Yesterday, on my way home from my mom's I was driving around the Hingham Rotary towards Hingham Harbor, blocking the view (blocking is strong word) there was a large sign that says "DRUNK DRIVING".

It said more but the only part I could read was the part that said drunk driving, it was a rotary, traffic was fairly heavy on a warm summer evening.  I would have had an entirely different blog post had I tried to read the sign more closely.

It got my attention.  Turns out, the Massachusetts State Police and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services are cracking down on drunk driving from July 3 through July 23rd.  This means, that extra patrols are added and that police departments are looking for drunk drivers.  Mostly, it means that there are additional traffic patrols out on the streets in an attempt to protect the safety of the public.

If you get stopped you have the right to refuse to take a breathalyzer and to refuse to take Field Sobriety Tests.  If you have been stopped and charged with drunk driving call me at 617-934-0272 or fill out this form to set up a free consultation.

For additional information on the drunk driving crackdown see this article:
